Installing the pulse nozzle system preventively is undoubtedly a conservative and very sensible solution, which shows great experience in material flow. The preventive action of the nozzle sequence means that the customer forgets about the material flow problems from the very beginning of using his system. Not only does the time for diagnosis disappear, but above all for downtime, repairs and manual removal of material

Lead time and installation

The assembly of 36 pulse nozzles on a steel tank by a 5-person team took about 20 hours. The day before assembly, the same team drilled holes at previously determined points. The locations of the holes were precisely marked before the work began, using chalk based on technical drawings. A 24kg magnetic drill is used to drill the holes. A core drill with a diameter appropriately selected for the size of the nozzles being installed is mounted on it.

After the nozzles were assembled, the compressed air system was connected, which took 3-4 days, then the electrical connection was connected until finally the installation could be tested.

Challenges

These pulse nozzles could not be mounted too low because of another device that was also used to discharge this material.

Tanks They were made of 10mm thick carbon steel and additionally reinforced from the inside with 2mm thick stainless steel sheet. The stainless steel was spot welded to the tank, which made it difficult to make holes due to material deformation. This problem caused longer work, as well as greater wear of the drill, which was enough to make only one hole. If the structure was not reinforced, the life of the drills would have increased tenfold.
